The problem of holding the violin with ease has always been an interest of mine, and even as a student I experimented with a wide range of available and self-made chin- and shoulder rests. 

Observing the pain and injury in students and colleagues, as well as my own experience, compelled me to search for ever new ways of approaching the instrument. In 2012, after studying Alexander Technique and upper body mechanics, I came to the conclusion that there were fundamental flaws in our holding equipment- that they acted counter to healthy body motion, and induced discomfort, reduced range of motion, and injury. 

This led to the development of the WAVE Chinrest.

Today, thousands worldwide have called the WAVE Chinrest their new home for violin comfort. For professionals, amateurs, and students, the WAVE has granted a new lease on their playing, and has given them a music life which includes ease of playing and joy of expression.
